Reaserch and Planning-What I've done today

This is my magazine after the changes I have made today.As you can clearly see I have changed my colour theme because after a long time looking at my blue and green I realised that they were too bright when both used together and stood too far away from the deep colours in the photo.I am looking into putting a third colour on there and thinking about a dark brown.As you can see I have changed around they layout of my cover and moved over the cover stories which I think works really well.

Research and Planning-What I've done today

Today I have finished off my double page spread.Here are screen shots showing the album cover I have made.To make this I have used Photoshop and lots of different layers and filter techniques just seeing what works well.I had to decide whether I wanted to use a Photo of the artist on the album cover or use objects.As you can see I decided to use a photo of the guitar and hat.I then wanted to add a little more detail so decided to use a photo and turn it into a silhouette.The second screen shot here shows you how I made the silhouette, I had to carefully draw around the guitar to keep it the original colour. I used the magnetic lasso tool to follow around the model in the picture.  

Here is my finished double page spread , I am really happy with it I think it looks interesting and something I would read in a magazine.

Research and Planning-Make up

In order to take the best possible photos for my magazine I need to make sure that my model 'looks the part' so I have made sure that I have done  lots of research into costume , make up and setting.Here is my research into what makeup looks appropriate for my genre.Taylor Swift(pictured below) is a country and western artist and her style has inspired me in making my magazine.Here  Taylor is pictured wearing very little makeup and looking quite natural.

Here I have done a makeup test simply looking at the difference between wearing touches of makeup and without any.

Here is an eye natural.

Here is an eye with mascara and a little bit of eyeliner.As you can see it makes a lot of difference and just highlights the eye more.I will use mascara in my pictures.

Here I have looked at lips , Here lips are natural.

Here I have put some lip gloss on and as you can see it makes the lips look better.

I will use both mascara and lip gloss in my pictures because I want to keep my model looking natural but look like she is modelling for photos and an effort has been made.My model may wear a very light cover of foundation to cover any blemishes but it will depend on what her skin looks like in the light on the day.

This is a collage made by different articles and parts of the magazine Up country.This is the magazine I bought to help me in creating my own country and western magazine.I also wanted to make this to show how there is such a verity in colours and page layouts.

Research and Planning-What Ive changed now

After receiving examiner feedback I have looked at my colour scheme as the colours clashed. I like how the masthead looks in white and I will now change the price to white.In order for the examiner to understand where the use of many colours came from I will take a picture of the magazine that I got inspiration from.

There aren't many posts for January here on my blog as I am now building up my magazine but will continue to keep this blog updated with that I am doing up until it is finished.
